In Saudi Arabia, people quote the Koran in forcing women without the proper veils to remain inside a burning building rather than escape to safety. In Israel, people quote the Talmud to justify their belief that they and they alone are God’s chosen people. When superstition rules a society, how much further is it to burning “witches?”
